The Wellspring Story

People who are diagnosed with cancer today hope for a cure.  But they can't wait for one.  They need to cope with cancer now.  And to do this, they need something else, in addition to their medical care.  They need help from people who understand the psychological, emotional, social and practical consequences of cancer and its treatments, and so do their families.

Established in July, 2000, Wellspring Halton-Peel is located in serene Oak Park, just south of Highway five on Sixth Line in the Town of Oakville.  In addition to over 40 different cancer support programs, Wellspring Halton-Peel offers childcare and transportation for families receiving support at the centre.  Wellspring Halton-Peel serves individuals and families coping with cancer in the communities in and around the regions of Halton and Peel.  The centre is also considered home to programs run by a number of other organizations offering cancer support in the region.

Getting started is easy.  Simply call or drop-in to Wellspring Halton-Peel and speak with one of Wellspring’s peer support volunteers.  The volunteer will provide you with information about Wellspring and its programs and, if you wish, speak privately with you about your circumstances and concerns.

If you wish to attend any of Wellspring’s programs and services, you will be asked to complete a Membership Registration Form which provides your contact information and some information about you.  This information is used to let you know about new programs at Wellspring, and for program development purposes.  All information is kept strictly confidential and subject to strict privacy policies.
