Overview of programs and Services:
Hospice PEI is a community of caring and compassionate volunteers providing personalized support to individuals and their families during the end-of-life journey and grief.

Our Mission: Hospice PEI is a volunteer-driven organization assisting people in PEI by preparing, supporting, and caring for those affected by a life-limiting illness before and after death.

What population of hospice palliative care patients/clients does your program/service currently serve?
All Ages

What are your admission/referral criteria?
A client is terminally ill and they are in their final year of life. The client has to be in agreement to receive our services.

Your hospice palliative care program/service provides support and/or care for the following:
Cancer
Cardiovascular Disease
Infectious Diseases (ie HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis-C)
Neurological Disorders
Renal Disease
Respiratory Disease
Care for all conditions
Anticipatory Grief and Bereavement
Emotional/Spiritual Support

How would you answer the following question if asked by a patient, client, resident and/or family? "What can you do for me?"
We can provide trained volunteers who provide care and support to you and your family. Our volunteers are available to visit in the hospital, long term care facility, palliative care unit and in your home. Our volunteers will provide respite for family members. Hospice palliative care is comforting, conversing, listening, reading, meditation, walking, driving patients to appointments, and doing those small things that help bring peace of mind. There is no charge for any of our services.
