Relieving suffering and enhancing the quality of living, dying and bereavement through compassionate support and quality services.

What are your admission/referral criteria?

Terminal illness, being treated for comfort measures only. Prognosis is 6-12 months or less. Patient/Family (next of kin) are aware of diagnosis/prognosis.

How would you answer the following question if asked by a patient, client, resident and/or family?

“What can you do for me?”


Practical Services:  local drives to appointments, to the store, for enjoyment; linen-delivery and pick-up bedding, towels, and soakers; arrange equipment loans.

Library Loan:  Books and videos on dying and grieving; two free booklets - "How Do I Cope?" and "Where Do I Go From Here?"

Grief Support: Handbook on grief and practical information on what to do next; Follow-up phone calls and letters to next-of-kin for 13 months following death.

Emotional Support:  Respite; Companionship (being there when you need a friend); Listening; Caring.

Advocacy:  Hospice helps people navigate the healthcare system and find access to quality end-of-life healthcare services.
