Hospice Calgary Society - Rosedale Hospice

More Information

What are your admission/referral criteria?

Rosedale Hospice provides end-of-life care for adult cancer patients who are no longer able to be at home or no longer require hospital admission. Admission criteria are:

  • Cancer diagnosis
  • Prognosis of less than three months
  • Active, curative treatment has been discontinued (e.g. chemotherapy, radiation)
  • C1 Goals of Care Designation — focus strictly on comfort, no extraordinary measures like resuscitation

Patient evaluation and referral to the hospice wait lists is through the palliative care teams in hospital or home care programs. Wait lists are managed through Alberta Health Services which provides more information about the referral process: http://www.albertahealthservices.ca/ps-1026208-patient-family-info.pdf

How would you answer the following question if asked by a patient, client, resident, and/or family?

"What can you do for me?"

We can provide support, comfort and expert medical attention.
