Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Palliative Care Unit

More Information

What are your admission/referral criteria?

When the patient has reached a point of no treatment or cure, no other prognosis, and a need for respite or symptom control.

How would you answer the following question if asked by a patient, client, resident and/or family?

"What can you do for me?"

We will not abandon you; instead we will make you comfortable, manage pain and symptoms, deal with psychosocial and spiritual dysfunction, and provide care for the family. Our intention is to look after symptom control, family, and care for all aspects of dying for both the patient and family members.
