National
Hospice Palliative Care Week is a time to celebrate, recognize, and
share the achievements of hospice palliative care in your community and
throughout the nation. It is also a time to educate Canadians about
hospice palliative care and a time to reflect on many of the challenges
facing caregivers. National
Hospice Palliative Care Week provides hospice palliative care programs
and services across Canada a chance to showcase their services and
encourage people to discuss end-of-life care issues. Some of the past
activities these groups have organized to meet this goal included
opening the doors of their facilities to the public and media and
organizing seminars and conferences. This year’s theme ‘The Many Faces of Caregiving’ is all inclusive to reflect the many different forms of caregiving at the end of life. To order posters, bookmarks, or other resources created for the Week or to share some of the activities your organization plans to facilitate, please contact Tammie Winsor, Project Coordinator, at 1-800-668-2785 ext. 224 or by email at twinsor@scohs.on.ca.
