HIKE FOR HOSPICE PALLIATIVE CARE

If you have ‘Joined the Hike’ in the past and will host another in 2008 – Welcome back! If you are new and would like to host your first hike – Welcome aboard!

Are you eligible to host a ‘Hike?’

You are eligible to host a ‘Hike’ if you meet the following criteria:

1.      Your organization is a member of the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association.     

            or

Your organization provides programs or services in hospice palliative care and is able to demonstrate that all profits generated through Hike for Hospice Palliative Care will be used to support these programs and services.                                                           

2.      Your organization is a registered charity as defined by Canada Customs and Revenue Agency, a Non-Profit Organization, a Non-Governmental Organization or government organization such as a public health department.

3.      Your organization will provide the CHPCA with audited financial statements for its most recent fiscal year upon request.

4.      Your organization will provide the CHPCA with proof of liability insurance coverage for the Hike for Hospice Palliative Care event, naming the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association as a protected party against any and all present or future legal action.

5.      Your organization will not duplicate an existing Hike for Hospice Palliative Care event within your local area. Where more than one organization within the same local area chooses to host the event, both organizations will agree to form a partnership.  All money raised will be shared by the participating organizations.

If you are signing up for the on-line fundraising website please email or fax the registration forms back to me by Friday, January 19, 2008 .  You will also have access to all of the electronic pledge forms for the Hike.

It is important note, that if 2008 is not the year for your hospice to sign up with the on-line fundraising website you can still register for the 2008 Hike Hospice Palliative Care with CHPCA and you will receive the pledge form electronically including all of the other Hike resources.

If you are not signing up for the on-line fundraising website please email or fax the attached registration forms back to me by Thursday, January 31, 2008.
